SSP partners with Tink to enhance its open banking-powered payments across Europe

Tink has teamed up with Score & Secure Payment (SSP) to enable open banking payments across the eurozone for its 14,000+ merchants. The core of the partnership sees SSP using Tink’s technology to power its own Pay by Bank option.

TL;DR – Quick summary
  • Payment processor Score & Secure Payment (SSP) specialises in account-to-account payments with over 14,000 merchants across Europe

  • SSP is using Tink's Payments product to power its new Pay by Bank option in multiple eurozone countries including France, Germany, and Italy

Paris-based SSP is one of Europe’s leading payment service providers  in Europe specialising in account-to-account payments and providing services on the entire payment chain. SSP processes over €13 billion annually, online and in store, for customers such as SNCF, IKEA, Stellantis, Club Med, Metro Cash and Carry, and Corsica Ferries.

Partnering with Tink means SSP can now offer open banking payments to its merchants alongside traditional account-to-account options like direct debit and SEPA credit transfer.

The partnership follows on from news of a number of leading payment platforms in Europe partnering with Tink to offer Pay by Bank to merchants at scale. This means more and more consumers have the option of selecting Pay by Bank at checkout and making a quick, secure payment directly from their bank account. For merchants, Pay by Bank represents a simple, low-cost, and low-fraud payment method that complements their existing options.

SSP merchants will be able to add Pay by Bank to their payment options in Europe in the coming weeks with the rollout already underway.

“Our partnership with Tink enables us to support our international expansion strategy and offer a consistent and high-performing payment experience across Europe,” said Eddy Combier, CEO of Score Secure & Payment.

Tom Pope, SVP of Payments and Platforms at Tink, added: “This partnership is yet another sign of the inroads Pay by Bank is making into European payments, spurred by merchant demand. We’re excited to roll this partnership out in more countries and accelerate the adoption of open banking-powered payments.”
